In Datatype, chose "Starforce 1/2/3/4" (this came out when I ran some software that detects the protection type-lost it and forgot the name)Īn dialog popped up asking for Measuring Speed for DPM function: left it at Max (The rip did not work with the laptop's internal drive) Put the Lexibase CD in ***external drive*** (via USB. Installed Alcohol 120 (Alcohol 120 version 1.) The protection was: Starforce 7.70.08.00 basic AND Starforce 3.4

The CD-Rom: Softissimo Collins Lexibase v.6.2 BĬhecked what protection was on it (forgot what the software was that detected the protection).

** Install instructions are at the bottom. So great to have a backup of this software at last. Months later, had another try, using a different cd drive.įor the record, in case anyone else is on the same trail, below is what worked. The read spead is being set from the "Read Spead" option above which in this screenshot is set to "maximum".Įdited by Charalambos, 24 January 2009 - 10:43 AM. In case you have confused it the "Precision:High" in the fourth image has to do with the precision that the DPM data will be read, not the DPM reading speed. Maximum speed while obtaining the DPM data is unacceptable for a CD, in fact the best speed theoretically is 1x, if you can't read the DPM data at a lower speed with your drive then you should try with another drive. tool in order to cloack your virtual drives and/or the Alcohol's EDM feature in order to disable your physical drives temporarily when testing the images that you make. Your best bet is to make a working image, try to do it with both normal( the default for Starforce) and high precision and several DPM reading speeds, starting from 1x. In the third screanshot the "Bypass EFM error" is at least unneccessary, it is for SafeDisc and has nothing to do with Starforce. Or do I need to burn, and if so, on what settings?Įdited by zamiel, 10 January 2009 - 03:09 PM. I have not tried burning the image because at the moment my CD-R (700MB) are too small for the CD's image (780MB).Ĭan you please tell me if there is a setting that will let me mount the image? But when I run setup, the protection system says it does not recognize a genuine disk. In Imake Making Wizard, for Datatype, I chose Starforce 1/2/3/4, then clicked Next.Īfter a while, Alcohol 120 completed a mds/mdf image.Īs I mentioned, the image mounts. In View/Options/Emulation, I checked RMPS. Can you please tell me if I am missing a step? Or do I need to burn the backup to a disk? I have made a mds image, but when it mounts, the protection system does not see it as a valid disk.
#DAEMON.DLL YASU TRIAL#
I am not sure what to do with the trial version of Alcohol 120. Protection ID reports two versions of Starforce: The software is a language dictionary called Lexibase 6.2. I am unhappy that that company sold me a CD-rom that cannot get backed up. I have enjoyed Alcohol 52 for a while and am thinking of upgrading to Alcohol 120, first of all to backup a software product for which I paid dearly.
