These documents were collectively dubbed the Facebook Papers. On Monday, a collection of internal company documents, sourced by Haugen, were spread amongst news organizations. In recent weeks, Zuckerberg and Facebook have come under fire as former employee Frances Haugen brought private company practices to light. While Zuckerberg emphatically contends that the name change is in service of its expansion into an online metaverse, rebranding also serves to distance the social media giant from years of bad press. We first reported on rumors that Facebook would be changing its name last week.

“But over time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company.” “Right now, our brand is so tightly linked to one product,” the Facebook CEO explained. Zuckerberg says that the Facebook name served the company well in its early days, but fails to cover all the various markets and technologies the company is working with. And together, we can unlock a massively bigger creator economy - to reflect who we are and what we hope to build.” “Together, we can finally put people at the center of our technology. “We are a company that builds technology to connect,” Zuckerberg said. The company says the change is to represent the goals and aspirations of the company.

  • I screwed the metal clamp holding the two cables to the right throttle body.Įxhaust upgrade, ECU flash, power gains, and weight savings will follow soon.Near the end of today’s Facebook Connect 2021 presentation, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company will be going by a new name, Meta.
  • A third alternative is a simple PCV valve. Since I was already ordering parts from K&N, I replaced mine with a tiny pod filter. Simply reroute it to the bottom of the bike. It is only routed back to the airbox for emission reasons. Its function is to alleviate pressure inside the cylinder head from the unavoidable blow-by inside the cylinder (combustion gases leaking past piston rings).
  • The thick hose is called the 'cylinder head breather hose’.
  • You have to stuff it so the ECU doesn’t complain about a faulty valve.
  • The thin hose is the vacuum tube operating the original air filter case valve (aka snorkel) in order to reduce the air intake size in the mid RPMs 'for noise reasons’.
  • We still need to take care of the disconnected hoses and cables:
  • Disconnect the two hoses and unscrew the two cables from the air box.
  • Cut downwards in a straight line (see photo at the end of this post).
  • You should now have enough room to push the rear of the airbox down and insert a long, thin saw between the frame and the air box.
  • Unscrew the two screws at the end of the air box which mount it to the frame.
  • Cover the throttle bodies with tape to prevent any debris from falling inside.

With a knife, cut off the flanges as close to the air box as possible.Disconnect the air box flanges from the throttle bodies.Cut of the air box 'fins’ protruding from the front with a small saw.Remove those ugly decorative plastics that hide the frame and shock. This is much easier than removing it ‘cleanly’ which requires at least a removal of the seat, fairings, battery box, and throttle bodies (and potentially also the fuel tank and engine). If you do want to remove the air box completely and replace it with clamp-on filters I recommend you do the same as me and cut it in half. Instead of getting the DNA cover you might as well cut a nice large hole into your existing one, there’s really no difference. If you don’t want to go through this trouble I recommend you get the DNA air filter and the DNA air box filter cover (sites are in Greek) which should give you similar gains for much less hassle. Would you still pay 2,300€ more for the MT-09 if the MT-07 came like this from the factory? …Īfter desperately trying to extract the original air box and ending up cutting it in half (photo at the end of this post) I arrived at the conclusion that Yamaha starts the assembly of the MT-07 with the air box, and then builds the bike around it.

With a simple air filter & exhaust upgrade and some tuning HORD POWER managed to get 80hp on the rear wheel. Yamaha quotes 75hp, which translates to 68hp on the rear wheel. If you’re surprised about such gains you should be! They are not typical for a simple air filter mod, unless your motorcycle is artificially restricted to begin with, as is the MT-07 (the original air intake has a diameter of ~25mm). This gave me noticeably more torque in the low to mid RPMs, a smoother idle, and better throttle response - even without an ECU flash. As part of my ongoing performance tuning I recently removed the original air box and replaced it with clamp-on air filters from K&N that are mounted directly to the throttle bodies.
